Roulette Hero is a unique blend of tactical deckbuilding roguelite mechanics and the randomness of a spinning roulette wheel. Inspired by Luck Be A Landlord and Slay the Spire, the game delivers a fresh experience with addictive, casino-like gameplay combined with deep strategy.

You will assemble a team of adorable animal companions to battle against massive mechanical robots. Each animal has its own unique abilities—ranging from lightning-fast attacks and impenetrable defense to unexpected magical effects. Your task is to strategically place them on the roulette wheel to create devastating combos.

The core gameplay revolves around pulling the lever to spin the wheel. Each spin activates the animal tiles that the pointer lands on, triggering chain reactions that deal massive damage. The cost of each spin increases progressively until you end your turn—at which point the enemy counterattacks and the cost resets. The mechanics are simple, yet hide an impressive level of strategic depth.

The game features 5 main characters and multiple types of levers, each with its own unique abilities. You will gradually unlock 13 types of animals and over 100 different tiles to build your board. Combined with more than 100 power-up cartridges, the possibilities for customization are nearly endless. Every run is a new adventure—you can create game-breaking synergies or find yourself trapped in an unwinnable situation.

There are 20 difficulty levels with stacking modifiers, similar to Balatro. As you progress, you unlock new animals, cartridges, and gameplay mechanics. The difficulty starts off manageable but quickly ramps up, demanding flexibility and adaptability. Final bosses in each run often have thousands of HP, requiring insane synergy builds to defeat.

The game features charming hand-drawn art with 13 species groups—cats, dogs, birds, insects, snakes, farm animals, mythical creatures, and more. The cute visual style makes the complex gameplay more accessible. A leaderboard system allows you to compete with players worldwide.

 

Roulette Hero fully supports Steam Workshop, with many community mods already available. You can download mods that add new characters, unique cartridges, or crazy synergies. The game is also fully compatible with Steam Deck, making great use of the touchscreen and trackpad for smooth tile placement.

 

The strength of Roulette Hero lies in how it balances luck and skill. While heavily influenced by RNG, players still have control over outcomes through tile placement, animal combinations, and combo planning. It feels like Auto Chess with a roulette twist—creating an incredibly addictive gameplay loop.
