Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is the latest action-adventure game from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and Sega, released on February 21, 2025. This game is a spin-off of the famous Like a Dragon series, set after the events in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (2024). The game version of the shop is the Digital Deluxe Edition with many outfits and benefits compared to the standard version.

The player will embody Goro Majima, a former notorious yakuza member trapped on a remote island and suffering from amnesia. Rescued by a boy named Noah Rich, Majima begins a pirate journey, searching for clues about his past along with the legendary treasure Esperanza.

The adventure takes Majima into a conflict between modern pirate gangs, notorious criminals, and former yakuza members from Japan. As the captain of a new pirate crew, he must uncover the mystery behind lost memories and the connection to an ancient treasure.

The game offers four diverse exploration areas: Rich Island – a remote island near Hawaii; Madlantis – a secret paradise for criminals and pirates; Nele Island – the base of the Palekana religious group; and Honolulu – the main setting from Infinite Wealth.

Players can freely explore the sea with the Goromaru ship, upgrade the ship and recruit the crew. The naval combat system takes place in real time, allowing players to control the ship to dodge, fire cannons, and approach enemy ships to directly confront the opposing captain.

Inheriting from previous parts, the game uses action fighting gameplay. Majima can use two unique fighting styles: Mad Dog – a traditional style focusing on speed and agility; and Sea Dog – allowing the use of two short swords, pistols, and pirate tools.

The new point in the combat system is the ability to jump and perform combos in the air, bringing a spectacular action experience. Players can flexibly switch between styles, creating creative attack chains and finishing off opponents with spectacular attacks.

The game offers a variety of entertainment activities from the Like a Dragon series such as Karaoke, Crazy Delivery, and Dragon Kart. In addition, a new activity called Masaru’s Love Journey allows Majima to recruit “Minato girls” to interact with the character Masaru Fujita.

Players can also explore classic Sega simulation games such as Poseidon Wars 3-D, Space Harrier 3-D, Star Jacker, and The Ocean Hunter. These activities are not only entertaining but also help players earn additional resources to upgrade characters and ships.

Alongside Majima, the game introduces a rich new cast of characters: Noah Rich – the boy who saved Majima; Jason Rich – Noah's father and a former treasure hunter; Masaru Fujita – a talented chef; Teruhiko Shigaki – a former yakuza leader; Rodriguez – a disciple of the Palekana group; and Mortimer – the leader of the Mortimer Armada pirate gang.

Familiar characters from the series also appear such as Taiga Saejima – Majima's sworn brother; Nishida and Daisaku Minami – former members of Majima's yakuza family; and Ichiban Kasuga – the main character from recent game installments.
