Hearts of Iron IV is a real-time strategy game developed by Paradox Interactive, set during World War II. Players can control any country in the world from 1936 or 1939, participating in complex military, political, and economic activities.

In terms of military management, the game allows players to train and command a variety of military units from infantry to tanks. Each unit needs to be equipped and maintained at full strength to operate effectively. Players can divide the army into smaller groups under the command of generals with distinct characteristics and skills.

The production system requires players to manage military factories to produce equipment. These factories are built from civilian bases and will operate more efficiently when maintaining production of the same type of equipment. Players need to balance between weapon production and industrial development.

The game also simulates in detail the diplomatic relations between countries. Players can sign non-aggression pacts, guarantee the independence of other countries, or declare war. The national focus system allows making important political decisions to achieve strategic goals.

The vast world map with more than 11,000 provinces and sea areas creates an impressive visual experience. Music and sound effects are meticulously crafted, contributing to a realistic war atmosphere.

The game comes with 3 expansion packs: Death or Dishonor focuses on the powers of Eastern and Central Europe, Together for Victory on the countries of the British Commonwealth, and Waking the Tiger explores historical events in China and Japan.
