Europa Universalis V is the latest version of the legendary grand strategy game series, taking players through nearly 500 years of history from 1337 to 1837. The game allows you to control any country among hundreds of different countries and societies around the world that are simulated in detail.

Developed by Paradox Tinto and led by Johan Andersson – the creator of the Europa Universalis series – EU5 offers unprecedented depth with a more complex diplomatic system, a more sophisticated economic model, a completely overhauled military system, and logistical depth that challenges even the most seasoned strategy gamers.

Players can lead millions of people from the late Middle Ages to the Revolutionary Era. From the mighty Yuán dynasty to the small city-states in Italy, from the Japanese feudal clans to the Pope himself – every nation has its own unique gameplay.

The game brings famous historical events such as the Hundred Years' War, the Protestant Reformation, the fall and rise of dynasties. Players can rewrite history in their own way – what would happen if England conquered the European continent, if China pursued an overseas empire, or if the Mongols still dominated Russia?

The new Estates system allows you to manage the factions within the country. You need to balance granting privileges to one group of people while restricting the power of another group, all to maintain authority and social stability.

Diplomacy in EU5 is elevated with the ability to build invincible alliances or influence dynasties across territories. Remember that nations have no permanent friends, only permanent interests – use ambassadors wisely, demand favors from allies, threaten enemies, and always watch intermediaries.

The completely new military system allows you to conquer new lands. Starting from the militia and mercenaries era, through social development, you will evolve to a strong standing army and impregnable fortresses. Choose talented generals to command both the land and naval forces.

EU5 has the most detailed trade system ever seen in the series with dozens of types of goods and agricultural products that can be produced and traded. Invest in feeding the growing population or trade surplus goods with less prosperous societies.

Players can shape society at different historical moments through the Societal Values system. Centralize power at the court or share it with the nobility? Pursue a policy of tolerance towards all faiths or condemn heretics? Emphasize a large army or a high-quality elite force?

For the first time in the series, the population is detailed on the map with the new "pops" system. Provinces can be divided by religion or culture, and your decisions will determine the fate of these people under your leadership.

EU5 introduces an AI automation feature that allows players to focus on specific aspects such as commerce or military while delegating the rest to the AI. This is a useful feature for new players, making it easier to approach this complex strategy game.

The game has a larger and more detailed map than any previous Paradox Interactive title. Challenge yourself to surpass the most famous rulers of the past, exceed their great achievements, and build your own vision on a meticulously simulated world.
