Dungeon Clawler is a unique roguelike deckbuilder game that combines claw machine mechanics with a deck-building system. Instead of drawing cards like similar genre games, you will use a mechanical claw arm to grab weapons, shields, and items from a container full of objects. Each combat turn allows you to make two grabs, and what you get will determine the actions in that turn.

The story revolves around Sir Bunalot the rabbit who lost his lucky claw in a gambling game in the dungeon. Now with a claw arm replacement, you must fight through 20 dangerous dungeon levels to retrieve the precious item from Squalo – the evil shark lord. Each battle is turn-based, you need to observe the enemy's intention icons to choose the appropriate item – attack when they are weak, defend when they are about to strike.

The game features 12 unique characters with distinct abilities. Sir Bunalot gains 5 defense points each turn, Scrappy increases strength when grabbing 5 or more metal objects, Count Clawcula heals 10% from damage dealt, and Squiddy has octopus arms that stick to hold items more easily. Each character brings a different play style, creating high replay value with many different build strategies.

The item system is rich with more than 67 different types and 40 passive perks. The syringe causes 10 damage and increases by 5 each use, the double-edged sword costs 5 health but deals 20 damage, while the magnet helps you reliably pick up metal items. Physical elements like water, honey glue, and magnets create unique combos – water makes items float, glue sticks items together, while batteries combined with metal increase damage significantly.

On the journey of exploration, you meet many useful NPCs. The blacksmith upgrades items for a fee, the alchemist changes the material of items according to strategy, and Granny Rabbit in the lucky room only gives health potions and gold. The secret rooms contain gumball-style slot machines, pachinko wheels, and many interesting minigames to earn perks or heal.

After completing the game with each character on normal mode, you unlock higher difficulties – Hard, Very Hard, and Nightmare. Each difficulty brings new challenges such as no health recovery between boss fights or allowing the use of other characters' claws in Nightmare mode. Defeating Squalo on floor 20 unlocks that character's claws, allowing you to use their passive abilities for other characters, creating extremely powerful combined builds.

Dungeon Clawler is currently in Early Access on Steam, iOS, and Android with a price of $9.99. The game has received a "Very Positive" rating with 92% positive reviews from over 1,700 players. It is confirmed compatible with Steam Deck, supports 11 languages, and can be played using mouse, keyboard, or controller. The development team Stray Fawn Studio is committed to adding more characters, items, enemies, and new mechanics in the coming year before the official release of version 1.0.
