Devil May Cry 5 is the latest installment in the famous action game series by Capcom, released in 2019. The game offers a frenzied combat experience with top-notch graphics developed on the exclusive RE Engine. This version has many outstanding improvements in terms of technology and gameplay compared to previous parts.

The story takes place 5 years after the events of Devil May Cry 4, when the city of Red Grave is invaded by a Qliphoth demon tree. Nero – a young demon hunter who lost his mysterious Devil Bringer arm – along with his teammate Nico, went to investigate. They discovered that Dante had failed in the battle against Urizen – a demon king who is trying to achieve ultimate power by absorbing human blood through the Qliphoth.

The game has three playable characters with unique styles. The legendary Dante can switch between 4 combat styles (Trickster, Swordmaster, Gunslinger, Royal Guard) along with signature weapons like Rebellion and Devil Sword Sparda. Nero uses Devil Breakers – prosthetic arms with various functions such as pulling enemies, exploding, or freezing time. V – a new mysterious character controls three demon souls Griffon, Shadow, and Nightmare to attack from a distance.

Gameplay focuses on creating skillful combos through an in-depth combat system. Players are encouraged to creatively chain diverse attacks to achieve SSS style points. Each character has a unique skill set that can be upgraded using Red Orbs. Besides the main campaign, the game also features the Bloody Palace mode, challenging players with 101 floors of tough monsters.

Devil May Cry 5 impresses with photorealistic graphics thanks to the advanced RE Engine. The characters are modeled through 3D scanning technology from real people combined with motion capture, creating smooth and realistic movements. Lighting effects, shadows, and destructible environments are detailed. Dynamic music changes according to the fighting style, featuring many energetic rock tracks characteristic of the series.

The game received high praise with an average score of 88/100 on Metacritic. Critics gave positive reviews about the deep combat system, beautiful graphics, and engaging storyline. Devil May Cry 5 is considered one of the best installments in the series, continuing to assert its leading position in the hack-and-slash action game genre.
