Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is a complete remake of the famous zombie game, developed on the modern RE Engine. Not just a simple remake, this is a comprehensive upgrade from graphics to gameplay of the first game in the Dead Rising action series. The game scores points with a new voice acting system, auto-save, and many features that enhance the quality of the experience.

The story takes place in the peaceful town of Willamette, which is suddenly locked down by the US military. Frank West – a freelance reporter who catches wind of an exclusive scoop – tries to break into the only shopping mall in town. Unfortunately, this place has turned into a hell filled with countless zombies. He has 72 hours before reinforcements arrive to uncover the truth behind this event.

All graphics from characters to environments have been renewed with superior quality compared to the original version. Facial expressions, material textures, and blood effects look much more realistic. Especially, the huge number of zombies appearing on the screen with completely new graphics create spectacular battles.

The game retains the original gameplay but has many improvements in experience such as automatic saving, revamped controls, optimized user interface along with many other details. Notably, the game now has full voice acting which enhances immersion.

The main setting is a giant shopping mall that allows players to freely explore for 72 hours. You can use conventional weapons like guns and baseball bats, or take advantage of everyday items to survive. The game allows rescuing other survivors and even trying new outfits while fighting.

In harsh conditions, not only zombies but also the mentally ill are threats. This raises the question: What is the greatest danger – zombies or humans? Players will have to face both types of enemies to survive and uncover the truth.

The game adds many unique weapons that were cut from the original version such as grenade launchers, along with various new costumes. The photo mode is improved with more creative options. Especially, the rich side quest system along with interesting Easter eggs related to other Capcom games offers many hours of exciting exploration.

Regarding gameplay, the NPC AI has been upgraded to be smarter, capable of pointing out important items and locations. The new control system allows moving and aiming simultaneously, while still keeping the classic control option for fans who want a nostalgic experience.
