Call of Duty: Black Ops II and III are a pair of famous first-person shooter games by Activision, taking players on a journey through time from the Cold War to the future year 2065 with advanced military technologies.

Black Ops II takes place in the context of the 21st century Cold War. The story focuses on the character David Mason and the pursuit of Raul Menendez – the most dangerous terrorist in the world. The game is notable for its branching storyline system, where every player decision affects different developments and endings.

The campaign mode of Black Ops II has unique Strike Force missions, allowing players to command entire units from a tactical perspective. These missions are not mandatory but their outcomes will directly affect the main storyline.

Black Ops III is set in the year 2065, when bioengineering technology has completely changed the way war is fought. Players take on the role of an enhanced agent, participating in an investigation of a secret military project related to artificial intelligence.

The Zombies Chronicles Edition of Black Ops III adds 8 classic zombie maps remade: Nacht der Untoten, Verruckt, Shi No Numa, Kino Der Toten, Ascension, Shangri-la, Moon, and Origins. Each map has its own storyline and challenges.

Both parts feature a diverse multiplayer system. Black Ops II introduces the League Play mode with skill-based ranking. Black Ops III adds the Specialist system with 9 characters having special skills and weapons such as: Ruin with fast sliding ability, Outrider with an electric bow, or Seraph with the powerful Annihilator pistol.

Regarding weapons and equipment, the game applies a flexible Pick-10 system. Players can customize their loadout with 10 slots for primary weapons, accessories, grenades, and perks. Black Ops III also allows weapon appearance customization with the Gunsmith and Paint Shop systems.

The Zombies mode in both parts offers an intense survival experience. Black Ops II has maps like TranZit – allowing movement between areas by bus, Mob of the Dead set in Alcatraz prison, or Origins with giant robots from World War I.

Black Ops II and III both support playing split-screen and online. The multiplayer maps are designed with the classic 3-lane structure but still have their own unique features. Black Ops III takes advantage of the new movement system to create maps with multiple elevation levels and wall-running paths.

Both parts have a rich system of challenges and rewards. Players can unlock camouflage, badges, and titles by completing missions. Black Ops III also has a Black Market item auction system and frequent seasonal events.

Regarding sound, the game uses High Dynamic Range Audio technology, allowing players to hear every footstep and gunshot with high accuracy. The music, composed by Jack Wall, combines electronic music and symphony orchestra, creating a suspenseful and dramatic atmosphere.
