Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land is the latest game in the famous Atelier series, marking a bold transformation with a completely open world. Players will follow Yumia Liessfeldt, a young female alchemist, exploring the destroyed continent of Aladiss – where alchemy once thrived but is now considered dangerous and forbidden.
After losing her mother three years ago, Yumia discovered her alchemist lineage and was determined to seek the truth: Why did the Aladiss empire collapse? Why did alchemy become forbidden? Is alchemy truly evil? Her journey is a story about confronting memories and the past, overcoming doubt to continue on the path she believes in.

The game offers a vast open world experience with four main regions such as Lignumbria, Syvashi, and Auruma. Each land possesses unique landscapes, resources, and challenges. You can freely move across the continent without loading screens, explore every corner to gather materials, solve small puzzles, complete quests, and unlock diverse skill trees.

The real-time combat system is the breakthrough of Atelier Yumia. No more turns, the game shifts to a fast-paced action style with the ability to switch between two attack ranges (melee and ranged), changing skills accordingly. You can control each character in the team, dodge enemy attacks, and use synthesized items as weapons to attack. These items can be reused unlimitedly, opening up diverse and deep strategies.

The alchemical synthesis system (Synthesis) remains the heart of the game but has been improved to be more accessible. You will manipulate mana in the materials to create items according to recipes, with power depending on the quality of the materials. The Alchemy Cores system breaks down the synthesis process into clear steps, focusing on effects, attributes, and quality. Simple Synthesis allows creating simple items right on the go, very convenient for exploration.

The completely new base building feature allows you to establish multiple bases at different locations. You can decorate the interior, build your own atelier, and create spaces as you like. This is where advanced synthesis is performed and resources are managed more efficiently.

The story of Atelier Yumia is more mature and profound than the previous parts, revolving around the theme of discrimination and prejudice. Yumia has to face the suspicion of the people even though she only wants to help them with alchemy. The diverse cast of characters with distinct personalities, from Viktor – the tank character, to Rutger – a warrior wielding a powerful scythe, each has a deep story and motivation.

The game's graphics are vibrant and beautiful with a distinctive anime style, along with an excellent soundtrack that creates an emotional adventure atmosphere. However, some players may encounter performance issues on weaker platforms such as the Nintendo Switch.

Atelier Yumia is not just an ordinary JRPG game – it is a complete adventure experience with an engaging gameplay loop: exploring to gather materials, returning to the atelier to synthesize powerful items, then using them in combat to progress further. The game is suitable for both new players and longtime fans of the Atelier series.
